there was a little girl named Jessie who believed in fairy tales. She spent her days frolicking in the woods, creating magic potions, and talking to nature - until one day, she was told that she had to grow up and do all the things she was expected to do. Trusting the world around her, she followed suit. She was a fortunate young lady who was exposed to many interesting things as she became an adult. She had international adventures and experienced life as a photojournalist. But, as all good fairy tales endure, a few dark characters came into her life to raise the action of her story. One grim, cold winter morning, her world as she knew it, came tumbling down... fast. She didn't know which way was up. She felt suffocated. She couldn't recognize her own life. As her heart fell into an abyss, days soon turned into weeks, months, and before she knew it, years passed. Life had improved, but there was still a lingering feeling of emptiness inside, and it affected her life choices. She felt like the door to new opportunities had closed for her a long time ago. She had forgotten who she was at her core. She had forgotten her worth. She kept moving forward though, one step at a time. But often, one step forward led to two steps back. She felt like she kept making the same mistakes, like she was stuck on a merry-go-round of disappointments. Then, after one final heartache, she decided, enough was enough.  It was time for change. She was ready to take responsibility for her own outcomes. She was ready to become the author of her own damn fairy tale! She began meditating every night before bed. During this time of peace and relaxation she would envision a better life for herself. She found comfort and support in doing this. It felt like home. ​Months later, on a warm, sunny afternoon, she found herself at a holistic marketplace. Amidst many vendors (some of which were selling magic potions and talking to nature), a beautiful woman with long auburn hair sat at a table with a pendulum, oracle cards, and essential oils. Her skin was radiant and she emitted the most welcoming energy. She had to talk to her.  When she sat down in front of her, the healer looked into her eyes, took her by the hands, and gently murmured, "breathe". Immediately, tears of relief, sorrow, anger, and joy streamed down her tired face all at once. For the first time in a very long time, she felt seen. She felt heard. She felt known. ​She worked with the healer through the winter, and by the time the birds flew home in the spring, her world became crystal clear. She remembered who she was at her core. She remembered her worth.​ The answers had been inside her all along.​​​​​​ ​And then Aura and Arrow was born.
